Sifu went over three palm attacks: the pushing palm, the side palm and the base palm.

The pushing palm is where your forearm will line vertically against the opponent’s chest with the base of the palm directed at their chin. The forearm gives us control over the opponent and lines up the palm to the chin. Pushing forward with the forearm and hold the opponent’s back will also cause them to collapse. We can utilize this palm with the side palm.

The side palm is aimed at the opponent’s neck. Aim to ‘slice’ into and through the side of the neck. The side palm can go either way, palm up or palm down, though the upward facing palm has a more straight path than the one facing down.

The base palm is a palm strike, but the difference is that you start with the palm facing you. Force is generated as you rotate your palm outward towards the opponent.
